Aaron’s practice is based on a simple principle that can be applied in any situation; You are most powerful when you are relaxed. In order to feel relaxed, we need to create an environment for ourselves where we feel safe. This can be especially challenging for people who have experienced trauma, abuse, or who have been repeatedly conditioned to feel helpless.
When your baseline is relaxed, you can feel your experience more. You can feel where you’re free, balanced, and open. More importantly, you feel where you’re stuck, where there’s tightness, or pain. If you pay attention to the areas where you are stuck (without judging yourself), you will learn how to heal and find more optimal/natural patterns over time.
Physically, there are many techniques that help us stay relaxed through challenge. Aaron’s method emphasizes finding your body’s natural alignment in any pose, regardless of how it looks or compares to others. This practice teaches you how to be more in tune with your body. You will learn how deep to go in any given shape by going to your edge of challenge. Integrating natural flowing breath into each posture will ensure students maximize their ability to be present with what they are experiencing.
